Test Architect

​

Responsibilities: 
•    Manage and lead a team of Test Engineers to ensure the highest quality product delivery.
•    Define test strategy, tools and process for quality assurance of systems and software.
•    Provide technical guidance and leadership.
•    Define, rollout, and enforce best practice processes in the areas of functional, system and regression testing using a combination of manual and automated testing
•    Develop test strategies, test plans, and test schedules for new projects and software releases
•    Oversee and report on the development, execution and results of test plans
•    Participate in project planning and estimates
•    Recruit, interview and hire new Test engineers
•    Excellent communication and analytical skills, including strong ability to identify and solve ambiguous problems
•    Shows creativity and initiative to improve product coverage and effectiveness.
•    Familiarity with automation frameworks.
•    Demonstrated ability to operate within short release cycles


Desirable Skills:
•    BSc, MSc, or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, or related field.
•    Results-oriented, self-starter, capable of working independently and within a team environment to meet deadlines.
•    A track record in delivering high quality, enterprise class solutions using a structured system development lifecycle.
•    Experience of architecture frameworks such as TOGAF or MODAF to support systems delivery.
•    5+ years of experience in a test engineering role.
•    Appreciation of Agile development methodologies including SAFe, DSDM & SCRUM, DevOps and continuous methods.
•    Experience working across multiple solution domains such as; Application Architectures,  Infrastructure, Security, DevOps Engineering.
•    A superior attention to detail.
•    Strong analytical, problem solving and organisational skills.
•    Ability to compare technologies and make recommendations to senior members of the team.
•    Experience in establishing a project plan and facilitating the setting of priorities.
•    Experience working with Central Government, particularly in Defence or Security.
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills and excellent inter-personal skills.
•    Willing to work outside of normal business hours to get the job done and to travel if required.

 

Demonstrable subject mater expertise in testing one or more of the following areas:
•    Cloud architectures AWS or Azure.
•    AI and Data Sciences. Machine Learning techniques and algorithms; especially Neural Networks, Decision Forests, Anomaly Detection.
•    Knowledge and skills in the use of current state of the art machine learning frameworks such as Amazon AI, Scikit-Learn, H2O, Keras, TensorFlow and Spark, etc.
•    DevOps Engineering and Technologies. Terraform, Docker, Ansible, Python, Jenkins, Agile Methodologies
•    Enterprise Application Architectures and Frameworks (Java EE, Spring, C++, C#, .NET etc).
•    Middleware and Integration: Oracle Fusion Middleware, SOA Suite12c, WebLogic, Portal, UCM, SOA, OSB, BAM, BPM and Oracle web forms. Experience with some of the following products: WebSphere, Jboss
•    Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, Cassandra etc.
•    Network and Information Security Architectures.
•    Tactical and Deployed ICT systems.
